From its humble beginnings in the 1970s’ tail end, Jamaican Dancehall sound has experienced a substantial transformation. Initially developing within Kingston's dancehalls as a minimalist response to Reggae’s more commercial sound, it quickly evolved with the introduction of digital production. The initial DJs employed sound systems and basic r
